Safety Harness Awareness

The Safety Harness Awarness training course is a half-day course (theory) for users of safety harnesses, this programme is designed for Managers, Supervisors and Operatives, who may require fall arrest protection

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the need for safety, the legislation and dangers associated with work that may require the need for a safety harness. To enable delegates to be competent when working at heights, on roofs and to safely and correctly use harnesses in conjunction with ladders and steps

Training is conducted either on customers premises or at one of our training centres and is classroom based. Some practical training will be conducted using the customers equipment where practicable, or by using our own equipment.

Some course content

1. Summarise the work at height regulations and associated legislation and be fully aware of their legal responsibilities

2. Select the correct work equipment and restraint systems to help prevent falls from height thus reducing risk to themselves and others

3. Carry out inspections of equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose

4. Confidently select and don a harness correctly
