LETI 24 LOLER, PUWER, Risk Assessment

Who Should Attend?

Potential and existing risk assessors for the use of lifting equipment who have received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher training.

Duration:

1 Day including achievement test.

Aim

To give training and assessment towards the LGH Training Certificate of Training achievement and provide proof of training for use at the delegates place of work.

Content

At the end of the course the delegate should be able to:

• Understand the requirements of the relevant legislation
• Do risk assessments and method statements in the workplace
• Complete the relevant documentation
• Recognise hazards and the controls required
• Understand the implications of non-compliance
• Apply the regulations to particular situations
• Understand the role of the inspectorate (HSE & local)

Knowledge

At the end of the course the delegate should have an adequate knowledge of:

• The duties and responsibilities, as required by statute of the risk assessor
• How to prevent or control hazards
• What constitutes a high risk work area
• How to complete risk assessments and method statements
• The LOLER and PUWER regulations
• Typical site operations, hazards and corrective measures
• The hardware and software requirements to comply with the legislation
• The duties and responsibilities of the owner of lifting equipment

Training Methods

There is a maximum of 6 delegates per course 100% classroom, office based practical to be included
