First Aid At Work
The First Aid At Work Training Course is intended for when an employer’s assessment of first aid needs identifies that a First Aider is necessary, or for those who want to gain the most comprehensive introduction to first aid.
The aim of the First Aid At Work Training Course is to provide the delegates with the necessary knowledge of the responsibilities of being a First Aider.
Delegates will gain a base knowledge of how to correctly react and treat the various first aid situations that may occur in their place of work.
This may include:
1. Legislation incorporating The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, guidance and overview
2. The requirements of RIDDOR
3. Introduction to first aid
4. The methods of basic life support incorporating rescue breathing, cardio pulmonary resuscitation(CPR), and paediatric life support
5. How to place a casualty in the recovery position
6. The contents of a first aid kit and guidance on how to use it
7. The injuries/treatments of the eye
8. Transportation of a patient in the most comfortable manner
9. The different types of burns and scalds and their respective treatments
10. Different types of fracture and their treatments
11. The human circulatory system and associated wounds
12. The human nervous system
13. Management of a unconscious casualt
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
1. Record and report accidents and injuries in the workplace (RIDDOR)
2. Administer basic life support and put a casualty in the recovery position correctly
3. Treat any first aid/emergency situation in the work place
